The use of piezo, which is a more practical and advanced technology for surgeons, helps to make nose aesthetics (rhinoplasty) operations more comfortable.

Rhinoplasty with piezo is a method used to shape the nasal bones or cartilage without cutting. Without using traditional surgical instruments, the use of piezo devices helps both shorten the healing process and make the operation more uncomplicated.

Piezo is a device with special tips that vibrate at a high frequency. This technique helps to shape bone or cartilage tissue by touching the nasal bones or cartilage with ultrasonic vibrations. In this way, it allows for a more sensitive and controlled operation, reducing the risk of bleeding and swelling caused by traditional surgical instruments.

Ultrasonic piezo rhinoplasty is usually used to correct the shape of the nose, reshape the tip of the nose or the back of the nose, or relieve breathing problems. This technique makes nose aesthetics operations more predictable. However, like any surgical procedure, this method may carry some risks. It is important for patients to follow the doctor’s recommendations before and after surgery.

In which cases is the ultrasonic piezo technique used?

The ultrasonic piezo technique can be used to correct the entire cartilage and bone structure in the nose.

It can also be used for repairing nasal fractures due to deformities, for delicate repair of nasal bone or cartilage, as well as for correcting congenital or structural anomalies. However, the most appropriate surgical method for each patient should be determined depending on the individual condition and expectations of the patient.

The Healing Process

Although the healing process of nose surgeries performed using the ultrasonic piezo method varies from person to person, there is less swelling and edema compared to the traditional method. After the operation, silicone tampons are placed in the nose and a splint is placed on the patient’s nose. Also, even though it’s rarely, post-operative symptoms such as swelling and bruising may begin. Cold press application is recommended.

During the first few days, swelling and bruising around the nose may increase and there may be a feeling of discomfort. Pain control and medication use are important during this period. You may need to use the painkillers that your doctor suggested. In the first weeks of the healing process, intra-nasal tampons and bandages over the nose can be removed. However, intra-nasal swelling and congestion may continue. During this period, one should be careful and watch the doctor’s recommendations. Physical activities should be limited and sun protection is recommended.

Especially, the healing of the shape and size of the nose can change slowly over a period of several months. Nasal edema will decrease over time. It is important to go for regular check-ups with your doctor during this period.

The results of nose surgery may start to be seen exactly at the end of the first 1 year. This period may take 2-3 years in patients with thick skin.

The healing process varies depending on personal factors, the complexity of the operation and the person’s general state of health. Following the instructions given by your doctor can speed up your healing process and improve the results.
