İletişim Bilgileri

Bishectomy is the operation of surgical removal of the fatty tissue inside the cheeks. This operation is planned for a thinner face, distinctive cheekbones, and a contoured facial appearance. Bishectomy can be performed under local or general anaesthesia. The treatment protocol should be created depending upon the preference of the surgeon and the needs of the patient.

As the result of bishectomy, it is aimed for the cheeks to have a thinner appearance. After the operation, the person may have more distinctive cheekbones and contours. It is ensured that the fat cells removed by bishectomy are permanently destroyed. For this reason, the obtained results are generally long-term and permanent.

In the bishectomy operation made surgically, the fatty tissue inside the cheeks is removed appropriately. The healing process is faster compared to many surgical operations. The healing process may differ from person to person, and the patient can return to their normal activities within a few weeks.

What should the patients be careful of after bishectomy?

After bishectomy, pain and swelling are normal. You can control the pain and swelling by using the painkillers and cold compresses recommended by your doctor.

In the first days after the operation, it is more easy to consume liquid and soft foods. In order not to damage the tissue, hard, dry and hot foods, and hot drinks should be avoided.

Also, the patient should pay attention to mouth hygiene. Especially after the first 24 hours after the surgery, mouth washing should be avoided. You may need to use antibacterial mouthwash until the wound heals. It should not be forgotten that consuming prohibited substances can negatively affect the healing process.

It is needed to be avoided from heavy exercises and excessive physical activities after surgery.  Also, resting and sleeping routine should be regarded. If you notice any abnormal symptoms or complications (e.g. infection or excessive bleeding) after surgery, contact your doctor immediately.
